The 2006 Lucia at the Swedish Club was a geat event

Visit of priest Peter Hellgren and Lucia Celebration 2006

A warm, sunny Sunday made a lovely good day for everyone who attended the Swedish church service and the Lucia celebration held at the Emmanuel Lutheran church in 139 Archer St., North Adelaide from 14.00 Sunday the 17th December 2006.

As you see in the photos, the diligent children participated in the Lucia train and were all pleased and happy performing their part. Many people attended the Swedish church service and the Swedish consulate and his wife were present.

After the Lucia celebration we’re invited to have coffee/cordial/glogg with traditional cakes such as lussekatter and peppakakor etc. prepared by the events committee. Everyone mingled while eating and drinking having good relaxing time. One of the best parts was the singing and dancing around the Christmas tree and acting out the traditional Swedish Christmas songs followed by the drawing of the raffle. It was enjoyed by both the children and adults alike.

It was a very successful event, and we hope we shall meet you again next year.
