SWEDISH
GET TOGETHER
The
evening at the Adelaide Sailing Club was a positive and exciting occasion
appreciated by all present. There was a flavour of Swedish national dress by the
organiser, Mia Harman, while two girls, Ellen and Madeleine Matschke were
dressed as Easter witches (pask karringar) with baskets full of traditional
Swedish sweets.
As you can see the photos show how we celebrate Easter in Sweden with the children.
There was a good attendance by over 100 people who were able to mingle and talk to the Swedish Ambassador, Karin Ehnbom-Palmquist, the Adelaide Consul, David Seaton, as well as a few political and business identities. Saab and Volvo representatives were present with their vehicles on display.
Thanks go to all who attended and made the evening a successful inaugural Swedish Club event and provide enough interest to carry the momentum forward to more, and different events in the future.
Special thanks must go to Mr. David Seaton for his support and inspiration, as well as to the working committee for the preparation and decoration of the venue, and entertainment.
